Haitai, gusu-yo, chu-uganabira (Hello, everyone, how are you all?).
I am sincerely delighted at the holding of the “8th Okinawa International Movie Festival”, and would like to thank all of the officials, starting with Yoshimoto Kogyo, as well as the Cooperative Committee and Cheer Squads for all of your hard work.
For this year’s 8th Okinawa International Movie Festival, the festival will be held in April, so all of the visiting tourists will be able to enjoy the refreshing early Okinawa summer together with us.
There will also be a number of events all around the prefecture, mak-ing this an even more enjoyable event than ever before, all across the islands. I hope that all of the visitors will be able to enjoy the special features of each of the many venues and locations that they visit. Our city will liven the festival up with events at the main venue of Naminoue Umisora Park, and events at Kokusai Dori, and it is my sincere hope that a great deal of “Laugh & Peace” will be experi-enced in the streets of this city.
Finally, it is my great hope that this 8th Okinawa International Movie Festival will be an event which is filled with smiles.
