The “Okinawa International Movie Festival” is already marking its 8th year. I would like to sincerely thank everyone that has cooper-ated, and all that have visited the festival.
This year, together with many partners from around Okinawa Prefecture, we will be holding the festival over the four-day period from Thursday April 21st to Sunday April 24th, where everyone that visits and participates will be able to enjoy a true “Okinawan Climate”.
At the same time, through the Pre-Festival Programs held prior to this period, as well as the various events and projects held in con-junction with people both within and outside of Okinawa following the Festival, we are taking a further step towards the realization of a “Celebration of Entertainment throughout the entire Prefecture including the islands, all through the year”.
We look to further expand and grow, keeping in mind “a desire to celebrate a cross-section of entertainment in various fields, at Japan’s premiere tourist resort location of Okinawa, under the theme of “Laugh & Peace, providing opportunities for exchanges of content from all around the world, and bringing the power of entertainment to increase smiles on the faces of people”.
Every time this festival is held, the number of people cooperating and attending increases.
It is my hope that this “Okinawa International Movie Festival” will continue to evolve and grow, for everyone that visits our venues, and with thanks to the Movie Festival Cooperative Committee, and all of the local cheer squads, local governments and various organiza-tions, the people of Okinawa, the people in related industries, all of our sponsors, exhibitors, participants and attendees.
