Thanks to everyone involved, we’ve reached the 8th year of this festival.
The “Okinawa International Movie Festival” started in 2009 as a celebration of entertainment. the festival greatly developed from a temporary event in a limited time range into a lasting project that enabled various events to be held throughout the year across the Okinawa Islands. Therefore, we’ve changed the Japanese name for the festival to “All Things Great in All the Islands!” since last year,. Furthermore, it collects domestic and overseas information about entertainments and conveys them from Okinawa through the fes-tival. This was able to continue through the efforts and unending support of every Okinawa resident and all cooperating organiza-tions. Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere gratitude to all.
From Okinawa, as the main stage of this festival, we hope to con-nect the people of Japan, Asia and the world together to build a bigger network, leading to further development in the entertain-ment industry.
